From Awareness to Embodied Change

When she came into Thrive after Trauma Coaching, she wasn’t new to the work. She had already invested years into understanding herself. She had studied attachment, PACE, DDP, neurodiversity, and even completed university-level learning in child psychology, mental health, and human biology. She knew the theory, and yet something still wasn’t shifting. As she shared, “I knew the theory… and yet I was still struggling.”

What she wanted felt simple on the surface. Better connection with her daughter, less reactivity, more calm in the moment. What unfolded was something much deeper.

Through the work moved from understanding into lived experience. As she said, “A book is only ink on paper unless you can really make it come to life.” This is where everything began to change. She started to understand herself on a deeper level, not just why she reacted, but how to shift it in real time. “What I have is so much more. I am starting to understand myself and in turn it has increased my self-worth, my acknowledgement of myself as an amazing parent and a strength I didn’t know I had.”

The impact didn’t stay within parenting. As we worked through her Time Line one of the most significant shifts came in her family system. “I have chosen to cut almost all contact with my parents, I felt it was necessary for my own family.” This came from a place of clarity and self-trust. That clarity then rippled into her children. “This healing of my generational trauma has allowed me to show my girls… the choice to maintain healthy boundaries and show them really what healthy relationships are.”

At the deepest level, this was about identity. She didn’t just gain tools. She gained self-trust, self-worth, emotional steadiness, clarity in her relationships, and the ability to choose differently. From that place, everything else shifted.
